My topic for my paper is Casey Neistat, who is an insanely popular YouTuber. I'm mainly analyzing three of his videos, each being completely different types of content. For example, one is a video where he gives a "guide to filmmaking" where he exclaims that "gear doesn't matter". This is one of the big things I'll be exploring about Casey Neistat and how it affects his appeal to his audience. He puts a lot of emphasis on the content of his videos rather than how they are made, which influences his audience and adds a lot to a very genuine vibe to his content. As far as a tangible, on-paper/screen outline, I won't be creating one. I will use the approach of having a sort of mental map of my paper however. It's essentially a Point A to Point B approach. I feel like if I organize my main ideas in my head in a designed order, I will be able to have very structured language and organization by way of simply knowing what idea follows the other. This project is really fun because I get to simply watch YouTube videos as part of the research! The biggest challenge is also that. The majority of my sources are simply YouTube videos, and gathering material from those kinds of sources does take a chunky amount of time.
